This high performance ceramic, zirconium oxide has already been in use for long time in sure diverse applications such as the Space Shuttle, Porsche cars, gems and artificial hip joints. It is strong, fracture resistant, pleasing to the eye, biocompatible-with pure TZP (tetragonal zirconia polycrystals). It allows you to combine the patient's wishes for a "whiter restoration" with the clinical requirements related to masticatory loading. It can be used for both single crowns and 3-unit bridges. Americus is proud to offer Cercon-Smart-Ceramic™ restorations as a new addition to our extensive options for your patient. The Cercon-Smart-Ceramic™ restoration is manufactured using a computer-assisted milling machine. These restorations are machined to precise tolerances, with outstanding fit and marginal integrity and the strength that approaches metal. Cercon-Smart-Ceramic™ Cream S or Noritake ZR porcelain is available on the Cercon-Smart-Ceramic™ substructure.
